PROJECT LINUS

Project LInus is
new project adopted by Calvary Church’s St. Elizabeth Guild at the
meeting held on March 6.

PROJECT LINUS was established in 1995 as a not-for-profit organization with the sole
purpose of supplying hand-made blankets to children going through difficult times. This
can mean anything from a hospital stay for critical illness, to a chronic or long-term
condition, to situations of abuse or neglect, natural disasters affecting the family, the
death of a family member, homelessness, etc.—any situation, in short, where a child might
feel frightened, anxious or unsure. These blankets are intended to give the children
something to “hang on to,” and to help them through whatever it is they are facing.

The Delaware/Chester County Chapter of Project Linus was formed in 2000, and is going
strong with the support of “blanketeers” who are willing to give of their time and talent to
help others. To date, over 2,300 blankets have been donated, locally.

The ladies of the St. Elizabeth Guild unanimously approved adoption of PROJECT LINUS,
not only as a one-time activity, but as an on-going project both as a group and
encouraging individual donations. As such, we are offering this project to the whole Parish
to be a part of our continuing outreach program, and we invite all of the members and
friends of Calvary Church to participate with us in the effort to bring comfort to these
children in need.

If you wish to be an active part of the project, and/or to contribute to PROJECT LINUS,
please call Margaret Quaile at 610-459-9163.

And please click here -

PROJECT LINUS “Wish List”, with ways in which those who cannot participate in the making
of blankets can make other types of donations to help out.

In Christ’s love,

The St. Elizabeth Guild
